Agathosma Betulina (Buchu) Essential Oil

Steam-distilled from the small round-leaf variety of Agathosma Betulina, our Buchu Essential Oil is sustainably wild harvested by hand from the mountain slopes around Middelberg peak in the Cederberg.

Unlike cultivated buchu varieties, these naturally occurring populations thrive in their indigenous habitat, producing an exceptionally pure and characterful oil.

Distilled in small batches, this is 100% pure, unblended, organic wild-harvested Buchu Essential Oil. The oil is rich in diosphenol (approximately one-third of its composition), one of Buchu's signature aromatic compounds, giving it its distinctive blackcurrant, herbal and mint-like fragrance. 

Because of its naturally high diosphenol content, we recommend gently warming the oil before use, particularly in cooler temperatures, as crystallisation may occur. This is a natural characteristic of high-quality Buchu oil and does not affect its purity or performance.
