Agathosma Crenulata (Vlei Buchu) Essential Oil

Known locally as Vlei Buchu, this rare essential oil is steam distilled from a wild-growing Agathosma species found in a single isolated population near Magnifica Farm in the Cederberg Mountains.

Although it closely resembles Agathosma crenulata (Long-leaf Buchu), its occurrence this far north is highly unusual, making it a distinctive botanical treasure of the region.

Growing tall along the edges of seasonal vleis and wetland areas, Vlei Buchu is sustainably wild harvested by hand before being distilled in small batches over traditional wood fires. The result is a 100% pure, unblended, organic essential oil with a remarkably fresh and vibrant aroma.

Unlike the blackcurrant and citrus notes often associated with other buchu species, Vlei Buchu reveals an intensely uplifting spearmint fragrance, with bright green herbal notes and a crisp, cooling finish.
